Dort sind die \u00e4ltesten noch lebenden Lebewesen zu finden, die Stromatoliten. Leider waren die korallenartigen Miniwesen nicht zu sehen, dies weil ein Cyklon den Holzsteg hinaus ins flache Meer vor eineinhalb Jahren zerst\u00f6rt hat. Der zur Absperrung hingestellte Zaun war wohl sicher teuerer als den Steg zu reparieren. Auch der nahe Campground sah ziemlich vernachl\u00e4ssigt aus, \u00fcberall Ger\u00fcmpel! hinter dem Ger\u00fcmpel, wo man aus einer neun Meter dicken, gepressten Muschelablagerung, Bl\u00f6cke f\u00fcr den Hausbau  (Backsteine) herausges\u00e4gt hat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure
